Sassy Sweety v/s Aunty Prude

Sassy Sweety and Aunty Prude were the best of friends till one day, one gigantic arguements made them enemies forever. After years of being hostile to each other and trying to kill each other with their unsuccessful death stares, they decided to use Munni of all Trades as a platform to talk about their issues.
What was the issue you ask? Pre marital sex, one of the most controversial issues of India today. So let’s start off with their arguments shall we?

Aunty Prude: Meri beti Ganga jitni pavitra hai. I don’t want to make her impure by letting her know about these impure things.

Sassy sweety: “Ganga jaisi? Seriously aunty! Did you know that Ganga is considered to be one of the most polluted rivers in the world and that the government of India has launched the Namami Gangaproject to clean it up? Does impurity and purity have such a narrow definition?

Aunty Prude: (proudly) My children don’t know anything about ‘it’

Sassy Sweety: It is not ‘it’ aunty, it is sex. Repeat after me, sex! If you continue to label it in vague terms and refuse to discuss it openly with your children, then they will go to alternate sources to get information. It may be the internet, TV or even their own inexperienced friends who might end up telling them something wrong.

Aunty prude: You will get pimples if you do ‘that’!

Sasst Sweety: First of all that is one of the most inane things that I have ever heard. Sex and pimples have no relation at all and do you think that scaring your children by saying that they will get pimples will stop them? Have you seen teenagers today? They get pimples all the time. So, do you really think that this silly excuse will work? Instead of feeding their heads with utter nonsense, you should be open about sex and have a heart to heart discussion with them. Tell them about protection and insist that in the future if they ever choose to be with someone then they should use protection no matter what. Now, that is sensible advice.

Aunty prude: Kissing can cause pregnancy

Sassy Sweety: I kiss my girl goodbye daily when she is leaving for school, does she get pregnant? No right! Stop saying such idiotic things that will make your children scared of friendly hugs and even parental affection. You are going to scar their mind if you continue tell them things with no scientific backing.

Aunty prude: Dharm nasht ho jayega

Sassy sweety: The total population of earth 7.2 billion! Now, in this population we have terrorists, people who start communalism, rapists, murderers, thieves, immoral god men… basically enough number of sinners to keep God busy. I am sure he has better things to do than punish people for their love.

Aunty Prude: Don’t you have any shame? Talking about such issues in front of children?

Sassy Sweety: No, I am proud of it. I am proud of the fact that my parents always taught me to make wise decisions and they trusted me to never take a wrong step. I may have had a few heartbreaks but at least they were worth it. I took a chance at happiness repeatedly and finally I did manage to find it in my husband, today. Sex is not wrong; doing it for the sake of it is wrong. Don’t you forget that. I may not be able to change your opinion today, but I hope that some day you will realize the truth in my words.

Sassy Sweety’s final words

All you pretty ladies and handsome men, it was great to debunk some Indian myths about premarital sex but I have a word of caution for you here.

Having sex before marriage is not “cool” or “in”. It is simply a personal choice that you have to make after giving it a deep thought. Do not rush things because of peer pressure or the fear of losing your boyfriend/ girlfriend.

Tips for Boys

·      Boys remember that no means no. Remember to respect a girl’s decision

·      Don’t try to cajole your girlfriend or rush things over. Take your time to think over it.

·      Be a supportive and understanding person. Remember, that girls are not your toys, they are human beings just like you

Tips for Girls

·      Girls remember that it is ok to say no even during the act if you are feeling uncomfortable and weird.

·      Be open minded and learn to air your opinions firmly on sex.

·      Say yes only if you feel it right deep down in your heart.

Boys and Girls, remember to use protection no matter what. Don’t let anyone influence you and never make a decision that will make you feel ashamed ever. Be proud of your choices.

Goodbye from me,
XOXO
Sassy Sweety
