A review of Asus Zenfone 5 in photos!

Asus sent over the Zenfone 5 to me to review for a period of 14 incredible days. Here’s what my family got to say about #MyAsusZenFone in photographs! (after all each of them is worth a thousand words, no?) 😀 Hope you enjoy it!

Now as you know every person has some or the other expectations from their smartphones. So my entire family decided to list theirs out and see whether at the end of 14 days Zenfone was able to fulfill all of them.

I had the phone for the first three days. Here’s what I felt about it.

My mom’s opinion J

What my sister has got to say!

Dad write about the Zenfone!

What about Day 13 and 14 you ask! Well the entire family was fighting like cats and dogs to use the Zenfone one last time.

So were our expectations fulfilled? Hell, yes!

The Last Ten Percent: Book Review

Marketing was one of the important components of my graduate studies and from day one Philip Kotler was our guru. We would pore away his case studies, mug up the theories and carry the big fat book with great pride. When I got an opportunity to review TGC Prasad’s book, The last ten percent, I was intrigued and the minute I got my hands on it, I started reading it. Before I tell you my thoughts about the book, let’s have a look at the synopsis of the book.

About the book
The Last Ten Percent by  author TGC Prasad throws light on how to convert every customer engagement into a unique opportunity. This book provides an analysis on customer service and management. A knowhow on how to sell and service customers, take care of the employees and thus improve customer centricity. This is a book for all companies who want to improve customer service thus translating into great customer experience. In this book he has given example of few well known brands like Starbucks, Nestle etc. All in all a meaningful and suggestive book on how to provide a fab customer experience, why are a few companies better than the others and what sets them apart.
My review
The Last Ten Percent believes that many companies fail to give the perfect experience to a consumer by not taking into consideration the last ten percent. The author gives two case studies from his life to illustrate the same. Once the concept has been established, one is taken through case studies of Wal Mart, Rent a Car, Nestle and many others and tries to focus on things they have gotten right. For example Rent A Car just asks two simple questions to their consumer to know whether his or her experience has been smooth; they have to answer
How would you rate your last Enterprise experience? 2. Would you rent from Enterprise again?
Two simple questions that help this enterprise get genuine feedback and understand the problems a person may have faced or the things that might have pleased them.
All these demonstrate how exactly they have delivered the “Last 10 per cent” of excellent customer service. After all, they believe in creating a loyal customer base.
This book also details on various steps companies can take to ensure that they go that extra mile to keep their customers happy.
The best part about this book is that it is a very light and easy read. It summarizes maximum points in very few words and it is suitable for professionals as well as students. So if you are looking to know learn how to go that extra mile to make your customers happy, you should definitely pick this book up.

Munni reviews Asus Zenfone 5 in her ishtyle!

I’ve been floating on cloud 9 since the past few days ever since I’ve got the Asus Zenfone 5 for review. Nowadays, I happily browse through it, check all its features and the camera of course and make notes about it. That’s what I was doing last night, too but then a thought struck me. What is the point of telling my readers about its specs?

I could yap and write a longish paragraph and tell you that it is powered by dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 with a decent battery and good sound quality. I can sing praises about its 8MP PixelMaster camera, Corning® Gorilla® Glass, GloveTouch and the new ASUS ZenUI but what good would it do to you. I will sound just like any other reviewer in the world. That is why; I am going to review  #MyAsusZenFone Munni ishtyle!

Need I say more?

A unique and impressive feature that I have not seen in any other phone

Makes my parents happy! Now they can use a smartphone, too

PixelMaster is a unique technology that helps click great photos and even edit it easily.

Asus ZenUI makes me feel that phone has been made keeping my needs in mind J

Ramayana the Game of Life- Shattered Dreams: Book Review

Hello,
I am reviewing a book after so many days. This time it is mythology, something that I rarely read. Have a look at what I thought about the book. 🙂

About the book
Shattered Dreams is the sequel to the national bestseller, Rise of the Sun Prince, in the new spiritual and motivational series Ramayana – The Game of Life. Twelve joyful years have passed in Ayodhya since the wedding of Rama and Sita at the end of Book 1.
Now, in Shattered Dreams, Shubha Vilas narrates the riveting drama of Rama’s exile. Through tales of Rama’s unwavering and enigmatic persona, the book teaches us how to handle reversals positively; through Bharata’s actions, it teaches us to handle temptation; and through Sita’s courage, to explore beyond our comfort zone. This complicated family drama provides deep insights on how human relationships work and how they fail.
My review
Shubha Vilas had  sent me an autographed copy of the first book but to be frank, I never got around to reading it. One of my friends borrowed it and I forgot to return So without reading the part 1, I was a little apprehensive about reading the second part of the series. But I must tell you that you Shattered Dream can be read on its own without the reader feeling that he or she is missin out on something.
This book revolves around Dasaratha’s dreams which eventually lead him to make a decision to give his throne to Rama, Manthara’s careful planning to influence Kaikeyi and the pain that Bharata goes through once Rama leave Ayodhya.
One interesting aspect of this book is the foot notes that add insightful remarks about the events that are going on. They give you a new dimension to think about thus making the reader look beyond the story of Ramayana. You learn about the characters in greater detail and realize that everyone has their own flaws and redeeming qualities.
The story flows beautifully and I particular admire Shubha Vilas’ narration. I have one grouse; the typos! It is a shame that such a beautifully written book was not edited carefully. I know many people are of the opinion that small mistakes here and there can be overlooked but not me. For me, reading a grammatically incorrect sentence is very jarring, especially if it is followed by something eloquent.
That being said, one cannot take away the credit from the author for providing the nuggets of wisdom and giving the reader food for thought. This book will definitely delight any mythology lover and if you are one, then I seriously recommend that you buy a copy for yourself right away.
