Fair & Lovely BB Cream and My Interview FOTD

Heya everybody,
I have recently finished my post graduation and was lucky enough to get a job during the campus placements itself. I must tell you, the interview process was really nerve wracking for me. I was so unsure about what was I going to be asked, how would I answer and so on but the thing that stressed me out the most was how should I groom myself. Luckily for me, my worries were really silly and I managed to ace my very first interview. Pat on the back for me eh? 😀
That is why; today I thought along with reviewing the latest BB cream on block, I should also share a simple interview FOTD with you. Let’s get started, shall we?

My Review
Well, I have done very few FOTD posts on my blog and that is why; my sis and I decided to have some fun. Here is me before I applied the Fair & Lovely BB cream.


My ‘After’ Face is definitely prettier!

Coming to the review, the most interesting thing that I noticed about the Fair & Lovely BB cream is that it has been specifically made for the Indian skin tone and though it does not have different shades, it suits everyone. 

The cream is very lightweight and absorbs easily. It does not streak or leaves behind any uneven spots. Travelling is an important part of my job and I have notices that it lasts for about 3 hours on my face post which I have to reapply. It does claim to provide fairness, too but personally I am against any fairness or whitening products and I won’t be talking about that particular aspect of the Fair & Lovely BB cream. 

Its claim of having a matte effect is really true and this is definitely a boon for those who have oily skin. The cream also has SPF 15, which provides you adequate protection for couple of hours. I strongly suggest that you apply a cream of higher SPF level if you know you are going to be out in the sun for long.

Overall verdict:

Fair & Lovely BB cream is an affordable and travel friendly BB cream that does live up to most of its promises. Since it can withstand the Bombay summers for three hours, I have to tell you to give it a try 🙂

Essence Mango Ice cream Glossy Lip balm : Review and Swatches

Off late, I have been really obsessed about pink lip balms and when I came across the Essence lip balm in the mango ice cream variant, I squealed with delight. The colour and the name were so tempting that I had to review it right away!

Essence Mango Ice cream glossy lip balm comes in a transparent tube with a pink cap. It has a slanted nozzle that makes application very easy and the transparent tube helps you to restock it when you are about to run out of the product.

My Review 
First things first; I love the colour of the lip balm. Its neither too bright nor too dull. It is a nice light shade that you can wear on casual occasions. The colour however does not last for long and you may have to reapply every couple of hours. The moisturization however lasts and my lips have remained hydrated for really long even though I did not reapply the Essence Mango Ice cream lip balm on certain occasions.
One thing that you must remember while applying the lip balm is that always look into the mirror if you want the colour to show on your lips properly. Also, the lip balm is very lightweight and it feels good against the lips

Now, when a product name is so tempting, I tend to have really high expectations from the fragrance. But I was really disappointed. It smelled nothing like mango ice cream and it was really strong. This was a major turn off for me personally.

Overall verdict: Since the fragrance of a lip balm is an important factor for me, I am going to rate this lip balm 3 out of 5. Except for the fragrance, it is a good quality affordable lip balm which you can definitely try this summer.

My Sporty Look with Zovi.com

Hello everybody,
The summer sun is unrelenting and even in May all of us continue to sweat like pigs the minute we step out. I personally hate going outdoors in pretty tops and dresses because I know that within a few minutes that material would be scratchy and itchy against my skin and I will be very very uncomfortable. Dressing down is more of my style during the summers.
Now, as you know I do not have too many OOTD posts on the blog because I am very camera shy. It is like the camera and I have a hate-hate relationship because all my photos tend to look a little weird. So when I was modeling in for my pretty clothes from Zovi.com I was angry and irritable at the best. One photo made me look fat, other made me look sulky and all of them were horrible.
I just stopped for a while about to give up when I realized that hey this is who I am! A chubby little girl who loves to dress up and dress down, too but here photographs often end up looking terribly lame. I am sure there are many people in the world who are just like me. That is when I thought; to hell with perfect photographs, my photoshoot is going to crazy and whacky at its best! Here is a collage of my sporty look this summer.

A cute purple tee that can be paired with jeans and even track pants easily is my first sporty pick from Zovi.com. The fabric allows my skin to breathe easy and this is especially good for me in the mornings when I go jogging.


Red FrontZippered Top With Printed Hood And Pockets

It may be hot outside but inside my office, the temperature is freezing! The AC is always amped up and I forever have goosebumps on my hands. I think that this cool red hoodie is perfect to keep me warm and also add a sporty touch to my entire outfit. I love the print on the hood and the detailing around the pockets.

Patriot Blue Solid V Neck T-shirt

This is a tee that I’ve got from the Men’s section because I loved the colour and the simple V neck. It is perfect for the days when I feel like cycling over to my friend’s place. I have worn my favourite sport bands and I am carrying a tiny coconut pouch to keep some cash.

Black Flat Sandals

When you are in a sporty mood, you definitely want to wear something comfortable. I personally am not in favour of completely flat sandals because they don’t give adequate cushioning to the feet. These black sandals are padded and you can easily walk for a really long distance in it. Personally, I wear these while shopping because I know that I am going to probably visit a hundred different shops to buy a single dress. Why give my feet pain when I can keep them happy?

Men’s Sporty Look!

Blue And Grey Lace-up Sports Shoes, White Track Pants along with this cool graphic T shirt are my picks for a sporty men’s look. They look comfortable and yet so stylish. I particularly love the contrast piping done on the white track pants as it just enhances the entire look.

Comfortable Casual Look

Regular Fit Dark Blue Denim Jeans, Brown casual shoes and Regular Fit Banana Cream Casual Shirt with Zovi Logo are absolutely spot on for a comfortable casual look. You can easily go out with friends for a casual outing in these fashionable yet comfy clothes that will keep you cool this summer!

My review of Maybelline Colossal Kohl Kajal in Smoked Silver

First of all, I must confess that I am obsessed with this shade and I have been using it whenever I get the opportunity. It is a gorgeous shade and adds a unique touch to your entire look. Now enough of my rambling, let’s get on to the review.
True to its word, Maybelline Kohl Kajal in Smoked Silver is very easy to apply. It glides on smoothly on to your eye. I found that two applications are necessary to make the shade really stand out. The kohl has a creamy texture but it does not live up to its promise for lasting for 12 hours. For me, it lasted for about 6 hours after which the shade started fading a little. I just quickly reapplied it once and I was good to go.

April Nine to Nine Fab Bag Review

Hey everybody,
I am sure you know or at least must have heard of the Fab Bag and the unique subscription service they offer. After resisting for a really long time, I finally took the plunge and today I bring to you my first ever Fab Bag review! J
The April Fab had a Nine to Nine theme which means it had products that you would come of use all day long. I must say I was really excited to see what my Fab Bag would contain. I dutifully filled up all my details and kept my fingers crossed for the Fab Bag to arrive soon. And it did! Have a look at my zebra print Fab Bag!

I must say I struck absolute gold with my first Fab Bag! I loved all the products it contained and I was absolutely delighted with the fact that the products matched what I had filled up in the questionnaire.


The Denman Hair Brush is absolutely amazing and it was something I desperately needed to tame my wild locks. I am going to slip it in my bag right away. I liked the fact that it was packed carefully because it wouldn’t fit in the Fab Bag.
The Malwara combination of Shower Gel and Body Lotion smells absolutely divine. It is refreshing and absolutely apt for the sticky summers of Mumbai. The lotion has citrus notes and I have already started using it!
While I don’t have acne prone skin, in the summers my skin tends to act out a little. So I am glad to receive the Iraya Anti Acne Gel. I will let you know how it worked out for me.

As for the quad, I love the shades. They are absolutely perfect for the summer when I like to go for light subdued pinks and peaches.
For me, the April Fab Bag was absolutely Fabulous (I know this sounds corny, but it is true. Promise!) At Rs. 599, it is worth every rupee you spend on it and I am looking forward to what the team has in store for us for May.
