A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2: First look

A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2: First look

Lemony Snicket loves teasing us and true to his style he had left behind a cryptic message  for A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2 in a video which lead me to www.vastlyfrighteningdecision.com (it now redirects to Netflix). Snicket left this message, “To my horror, Netflix has funnelled their ill-gotten gains towards the second season of this unhappy and unnerving series.“Even as we speak, set builders, costume designers and trauma specialists are snapping into action, the better to bring you even more upsetting episodes, all because of your reputed enthusiasm for this grim example of so-called family programming.” I think I am in love with him.

My crush aside, did you know that A Series of Unfortunate Events season two will officially premiere worldwide on March 30, 2018, but yours truly had the opportunity to binge on it a day in advance. I strongly believe in not revealing spoilers but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want to leave behind a clue or two for those of you who are waiting for the series to be officially released. Let’s begin, shall we?

Secret screening of A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2

After a series of misadventures beginning with their house burning down, running from the evil designs of their Uncle Olaf, moving unsuccessfully from one guardianship to another and staying at the lumber mill, season one ended with Mr. Poe tracking the Baudelaire siblings and admitting them to the Prufrock Preparatory boarding school.

Season two begins with the orphans finding themselves under the guardianship of Vice Principle Nero even as Olaf begins scheming plots to kill them and acquire their wealth. The Baudelaire’s are destined however to uncover the truth about their family. They find friends in the librarian Madame Lulu (who is she and how will she affect the children’s lives is a major surprise) and in the Quagmires who share a similar misfortunate past. As Olaf returns to visit the place where he went to school, many secrets begin to reveal, true identities unveil, allegiances shift and unlikely relationships are formed.

The series is fast-paced as usual and while I absolutely adore Neil Patrick Harris I would say Patrick Warburton has stolen the show this time around.

Come Season Two, the orphans are in for another gloomy rollercoaster ride of unfortunate events. Is there some hope? Don’t we mortals believe all’s well that ends well? I think you will start second guessing this statement once you reach the end of the series.

Psst….One last thing, yes Snicket’s world is as magical as before, the series is both dark and funny and yes, you will love it.

Don’t forget to watch the series on Netflix on March 30, 2018  :
